PDF tools
PDF tools on ToolHub merge, split, and edit document metadata entirely in your browser. Processing uses pdf-lib in a Web Worker when available and pdf.js for page preview—files never upload to a server. Hard size and page limits protect mobile memory.

Frequently asked questions
- Do PDF tools upload my documents?
- No. Merge, split, and metadata edits run locally with pdf-lib and optional Web Workers. Previews use Mozilla pdf.js in the browser. Nothing is sent to ToolHub servers.
- What are the PDF file size limits?
- Each file is capped at 50 MB and 500 pages. Merges allow up to 20 files and 100 MB combined. Limits appear under each tool’s file picker, with a mobile memory note.
- Can I open password-protected PDFs?
- No. Encrypted PDFs fail with a clear error. Remove the password in another app, then process the unlocked file locally here.
- How do I merge files in a specific order?
- Add PDFs in PDF Merger, then use Move up and Move down on each row. The top of the list becomes the start of the merged document.
- Will large PDFs work on phones?
- Modest files usually work. Very large merges can be slow or time out on low-memory devices—close other tabs and stay within the published size limits.
