Stopwatch
Time tasks with a start/stop/lap stopwatch.

Start the stopwatch and click Lap to record splits here.
Stopwatch is a simple, accurate timer for tracking elapsed time and lap splits directly in your browser. Start, stop, record laps, and reset—no app install or account required.
How it works
Click Start to begin timing. The elapsed display updates roughly ten times per second, computed from absolute timestamps so it stays accurate. Click Lap to record a split without stopping, Stop to pause, and Reset to clear everything.
Benefits
- Timestamp-based accuracy that resists tab-switch drift
- Unlimited pause and resume without losing elapsed time
- Lap tracking with per-lap and cumulative totals
- No account, install, or upload required
Use cases
- Time workouts, runs, or interval training sets
- Track how long a task or focus session takes
- Record race or practice splits with the lap feature
- Time presentations, speeches, or meeting segments
Best practices
- Use Lap instead of Stop when you want to keep the clock running
- Reset before starting a new, unrelated timing session
- Copy or download lap results before resetting if you need a record
- Keep the browser tab open for the most reliable display updates
Common mistakes
- Clicking Stop instead of Lap when you meant to keep timing
- Resetting before saving lap results you wanted to keep
- Expecting laps to be editable after they are recorded
- Assuming the stopwatch persists across a full page reload
Privacy
Stopwatch timing runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript timers. ToolHub does not receive, log, or store your elapsed time or lap data.
Frequently asked questions
- How accurate is this browser-based stopwatch?
- The stopwatch computes elapsed time from absolute timestamps rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate to roughly a tenth of a second even if the browser tab was briefly inactive.
- How do laps work?
- Click Lap while the stopwatch is running to record a split. Each lap shows both the time since the previous lap and the total elapsed time at that moment.
- Can I pause and resume the stopwatch?
- Yes. Click Stop to pause the elapsed time, then Start again to resume counting from where you left off without losing accumulated time.
- Is there a limit on how many laps I can record?
- You can record up to 500 laps in a single session, which comfortably covers most workouts, races, and long practice sessions.
- Does resetting clear my lap history?
- Yes. Reset stops the stopwatch, clears the elapsed time back to zero, and removes all recorded laps so you can start a fresh session.
- Does this stopwatch upload my timing data?
- No. All timing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript timers. ToolHub does not receive, log, or store your stopwatch sessions.
